7 tips for a productive day

When you are struggling to manage your time, it can have an effect on how you manage your money. Using your time effectively can make you feel more organised and less stressed, which could make you feel more in control of your spending. Here are 7 tips for a productive day.

1. Get a good night's sleep

Lack of sleep could make you feel less motivated and less productive. If you are struggling to stay awake, then you’ll find it harder to concentrate and you’ll be more likely to make mistakes. Getting a good night sleep will make you feel more refreshed and you’ll find it easier to deal with your day to day tasks.

2. Have a good morning routine

Rushing around last minute trying to find lost items and making yourself late can make you anxious and frustrated; this can have a lasting effect on your day. Give yourself plenty of time to get ready, eat a healthy breakfast, rehydrate yourself and leave on time.

3. Make a to do list

Making a list of all the tasks you need to get done, no matter how small, can help you be more productive. As you complete each task, cross it off your list so you can see how much you have achieved.

4. Star with your least favorite tasks

Tackling the things that you least like doing or are most worried about first, gets them out of the way. Everything else feels a bit easier once you have got rid of the most daunting tasks.

5. Break down your tasks into small chunks

If you have a big task to complete, break it down into smaller tasks and then complete them one by one. The more smaller tasks you complete, the closer to achieving your goal you will be.

6. Do one task at a time

Trying to do lots of tasks at once can make things more difficult. Focus on one task at a time. Prioritise the most important tasks and then work your way through each task.

7. Have a good evening routine

Preparing things for the next day and planning ahead will help you feel less anxious or stressed. This can help you get a better night’s sleep so that you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to face the day. Try getting your outfit ready, packing your bag and making a to-do list for the next day.

Having goals to work to, and completing tasks that help you achieve these goals, is a fantastic motivator. If you feel more motivated, then you will feel more positive. Being positive and motivated will make you feel more in control. When you feel in control you often find it easier to manage your time and money effectively.
